Add to that around 1000 for the GPUs I added to the system and we hit 4200. When the 2009 Mac Pro came out it cost around 3200.

I'd suggest saving up and buying a used Mac Pro 4,1 or 5,1 but I don't know how practical that idea is. The entry level iMac Pro costs around 5000. Your card, however, has drivers for Linux and 64 bit windows, but nothing for Mac. I do know that the 7950 works in the 2008 Mac Pro's for sure, at a slower speed however, but they do work. Your best bet would be to ask someone else. Dunno if it supports 2008 Mac Pro's thoughĪs to how to do that, I don't know. Here's a link to some info to maybe get that card working in your Mac Pro.Īnd here's for a firmware updater tool. There are ways to do that, I'm sure, but none that I know of. About the only way that card will run in your MacPro is if you update the firmware on it to make it "Act Like" a Mac pro 4,1 or 5,1, and figure out a way to get sierra running on an unsupported Mac Pro. Info on what MacPro you do have can be found under "About this Mac". The sound doesn't go through the HDMI so I have to plug into the headphone outlet on the front of the computer (and can't use the speakers on my monitor). I think you have to have a MacPro 4,1 or 5,1. In this review we take the 8 year old Apple Mac Pro 5,1 upgrade it to a 6 Core Xeon with RX 580 graphics and see how well it performs. audio hdmi mac pro mojave I have a Mac Pro 5,1 2012 and just installed an AMD RX580 GPU. However, your Mac Pro doesn't support Sierra. The best info I could find is that Sierra or better will support that. Currently you are running Leopard, or less.
